The brief at this Sydenham house, designed by Teo Architects, was ambitious: dig a basement under the entire garden, deep and wide enough to give the house a floor it never had.

What's down there now is a full leisure level — a glass-walled swimming pool, a private gym, a pool table and bar — all run through a Lutron smart lighting system with a bespoke audio setup built into the space.
